RACER - Interlibrary Loan: RACER FAQ

RACER (Rapid Access to Collections by Electronic Requesting) is the system you can use to submit interlibrary loan requests online for books and articles from other libraries.

WHAT IS MY RACER PASSWORD?

You created your password when you first registered on RACER. Interlibrary Loan Library Technicians cannot retrieve your original password, but can reset it for you. Call us at (416) 979-5314 or e-mail us at racer@ryerson.ca for assistance.

WHAT IS MY RACER LOGIN ID?

Your Login is your Ryerson University ID number (your employee or student number).

HOW DO I REQUEST AN ARTICLE FROM A JOURNAL OR MAGAZINE?

Click on Blank Request Form on the left-side menu under My Account, and manually fill out the request form.

HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS OR CANCEL A REQUEST?

Login to RACER and click My Requests. You can choose to cancel a request from this list by clicking the cancel icon.
A canceled request will display in My Requests as Request No Longer Required.

HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED THAT MY ITEM HAS ARRIVED?

You will be notified by Ryerson e-mail when your material has arrived.
To ensure you get email notifications from us, please add racer@ryerson.ca to your contacts or ‘safe’ list.
