Since 2016, more than 50 major publishers have committed to requiring ORCID iDs in the publishing process for their journals.
The following publishers and journals are a small sample that now require all submitting and corresponding authors to provide an Open Researcher and Contributor identifier (ORCID iD), often at the peer-review stage:
